Single layer/gradient mirror reflection attachment

Double sample introduction design P/N GS19650, providing in-situ FT-IR monolayer detection of thin films in gas and liquid; Gradient incident light provides detection of solid reflective surface film coating. The optional sample holder can be easily switched.

The gradient incident light can be adjusted from 8 ° -85 ° to avoid stray light. The uniquely designed small hole can correct light rays and improve accessory performance at the critical gradient incident light limit.

The single-layer mode includes surfactants, proteins, detergents, oils, polymers, and phospholipid bilayers in biofilms, providing a simulated study of the original environment of the sample.

To study molecular orientation, conformation, and phase transition, a specially designed PTFE material sample pathway was used to load the sample. We provide rotatable polarizer holders and laminated film accessories for research needs. Polarizers can be installed on all P/N GS12000 series polarizers from Specac company. Choose a suitable polarizer substrate to ensure that the wavelength range is visible in the mid infrared region.

For solid samples, we also provide a horizontal sample stage instead of a liquid flow stage for single-layer/gradient angle attachments. The size of the sample sampling area in the single-layer gradient angle attachment is related to the angle of the incident light projected onto the sample surface.

Regardless of whether it is a liquid sample or a solid surface, when the incident light increases (such as 85 °, the limit of a single-layer device), the elliptical reflection area of light becomes larger, resulting in a wider propagation of light on the sample surface.

Therefore, in order to utilize as much light as possible, you need a longer and finer sample area to increase the sample signal. Due to the extremely low intensity of specular reflection under gradient angle conditions, Specac typically recommends detection systems with higher sensitivity, such as MCT detectors.

For liquid samples, the maximum surface size is 85mm x 22mm. For solid platforms, the maximum length of the sample can reach 140mm and the width is 35mm. The base of the single-layer/gradient angle attachment can be installed in the spectrometer sample room. We will provide a suitable base device based on the spectrometer model you provide.
